Yoga
for Kids and Families
Sheila
is a certified YogaEd.
instructor, trained to teach yoga to children in the school environment
as well as anywhere else! Here are some ideas of what Sheila can
offer for kids and families.
Family
Yoga
An opportunity for a child (aged 4 -10) and parent or other loving
caregiver to explore yoga together in a light-hearted way. Classes
include child-appropriate yoga poses for individual and partners,
breathing practices, games, stories and songs. Playing yoga together
nurtures the parent-child bond, loosens stiff muscles and builds
confidence and self-awareness in children. Family Yoga inspires
love and connection and awakens the child in all of us.

Yoga
for Kids
Children are introduced to traditional yoga techniques in playful,
simple and fun ways. Storytelling, music, creative arts and earthcare
blend seamlessly with yoga breathing and movement to take the
child on a journey of exploration. The style and pace of the classes
address the natural interests, needs and rhythms of children.
They stretch, breathe, relax and enjoy the many benefits of yoga!
They engage in active, inspiring class activities and are guided
slowly to a place of quiet and relaxation. Yoga is non-competitive,
builds self-esteem and self-confidence, and is excellent physical
exercise. Sheila teaches classes for children aged 4-7 and 8 -
11.

Yoga
for Teens
De-stress, Recharge, Relax! Help ease the everyday stresses
and pressures of living with this yoga class just for teens. Improve
your fitness, health and overall sense of well-being. Develop
a more accepting relationship to your body and a positive image
of who you are in the world. Intended for young people aged 12
- 17.

Yoga
Ed. models and teaches a yoga-based education that develops
what are considered by the medical profession as the two
key contributors to lifetime health and wellness: self-awareness
and self-management/self-care. The
focus of the Yoga Ed. program is the transference
of yoga skills to personal awareness and tools for dealing
with life and making healthy, responsible, compassionate
choices. Yoga Ed. provides 2 key programs for schools
that are affordable and easy to implement:
- Yoga
Ed. as Physical Education with a K-12 curriculum
specially designed for P.E. A series of classes are offered
by Yoga Ed. certified instructors during P.E. time.
- Tools
for Teachers training for teachers to enhance
health and learning in the classroom. Teachers are trained
to lead yoga-based exercises in their class rooms throughout
the day.
